Comprising approximately 88,000 S.F., Arts Center is an exciting new world class performance, entertainment and educational venue. The Center is programmed to accommodate the University’s College of Performing Arts’ theater, music and dance departments. Together with the outdoor function areas and gardens, the complex has become a vibrant new Cultural Center for the Community and the Region. Prominently located on a highly visible site between Glassell Street and the University’s Global Citizens Plaza, the building and the landscape also provide a major new gateway for the Campus. Collaborating with the Design Architect, Pfeifer Associates and the campus Development Team, Bennitt Design Group prepared comprehensive exterior design plans that seamlessly integrate these new facilities into the existing campus pedestrian and landscape fabric. The building’s iconic façade and multi-level lobby face South to a large new open space, created and designed to facilitate outdoor events and functions as well as passive relaxation for students and visitors. Collectively, this dramatic new Campus Gateway embodies the Chapman commitment to high quality sustainable developments that not only respect the history and legacy of the institution, but create vibrant new cultural and community assets for the City and the Region.
